The British School, New Delhi, invites you to be a part of their

FOBISIA Senior Drama Festival!

This festival will take place from the 05-07 December 2024 in the capital of India, New Delhi. The festival will include performances and workshops conducted by companies, practitioners and FOBISIA teachers, all based around the theme of non-verbal theatre. This is an exciting opportunity for our drama students to learn new skills, explore new theatre forms, make new friends and above all have a fabulous time learning, creating, devising and performing.

Concept

A non-verbal theatre festival that invites students to create performances using forms such as Dance Theatre, Physical/Movement based theatre and Shadow Puppetry. Student companies create a short performance piece based on an image that has moved the world emotionally, politically and or intellectually.

Participation

The Festival is open to all FOBISIA schools and is for students from the age group of 14-18 years. We will welcome 100 students and each school may currently bring a maximum of 20 students. We will inform participating schools if we have any spare capacity after the submission deadline.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis once the final payment has been received by our accounts department.

Structure

Students will be divided into companies that will consist of a mix of students from all participating school. Each company will have the opportunity to attend the workshops being offered twice on a carousel, will be allotted a mentor and company time to create their own performances.

These performances will be showcased in the school auditorium on the final day.

Workshops

Students will have the option to participate in a range of workshops during the Festival (Dance theatre, Laban technique, Viewpoints System, Shadow Puppetry, Movement using Prop/Fabric, Actor-Puppet movement sessions).  We will be in touch with further updates so that the participants can make their choices.
